Today I celebrated the recent completion of my second half-marathon by buying myself a new pair of running shoes. Okay, was it a true celebration? No, it was really more of a necessary purchase that was long overdue.
When exercising, your feet really take a pounding. Many injuries to the feet are a result of not wearing proper running or walking shoes while exercising. In my case, my shoes were broken down from running well over 500 miles outdoors, but I had put purchasing new shoes on the back burner. Buying shoes would require me to take the time to go shopping, something I don’t always enjoy, plus shoes are expensive. Let’s face it a good pair of running shoes are costly and I am cheap, I tend to not spend the money on myself. But at what cost?
If I end up with an injury due to my shoes, not only would it set me back on my training and possible participation in the upcoming Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend but it could confine me to parenting from the couch and let’s face it, parenting active 8-year-olds from a couch is almost impossible!

Today’s challenge is to look at your personal list of needs and pick one thing off that list to complete today. Let’s Celebrate You First!
